Chocolate Chip Pan Cookies

Hey all, it’s T. Today I wanted to share my quick and easy recipe for when you forget about that bake sale the next day, and you have to rush around last minute to pull something together without anybody realizing you didn’t spend hours slaving over a hot stove. This takes just minutes of prep time and tastes like heaven. Without further ado, I present to you the best pan cookies you’ll ever make.

  • 1 box moist deluxe yellow cake mix
  • 1 package vanilla instant pudding mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 14cup water
  • 12cup oil
  • 12 ounces chocolate chips

All you have to do is mix all of the ingredients in a bowl until well combined, spread them into a 9×13 inch pan, and pop them in the oven for 25-30 minutes at 350 F, and voila! Let them cool for about 15-30 minute before cutting into them. It’s that simple.

Tip: to check if they are fully cooked, put a toothpick in the center, and if it comes out clean, then they’re done!

So that’s all you have to do to make delicious pan cookies, and I hope you will like them just as much as I do. Feel free to let me know how they came out if you try them, and happy baking!

Hey everyone, it’s T here. Now, as P said in her last post, we mostly talk about beauty and health, but today I wanted to branch out a little bit and have you get to know me better through my bucket list. I thought it would be fun to share a few things that I’ve always wanted to do, and maybe inspire you to try some of these or start a list of your own. Top Five Essential Beauty Products

Hey there! It’s M today, and I will be sharing with you my top five favorite essential beauty products. These products are items that I swear by, and I hope that you find them as wonderful as I do, (if you decide to try them of course.)

  1. eos Lip Balm: This is, by far, the best lip balm I have ever tried. It truly makes my lips feel instantly smooth, and gives them quick relief during the harsh New England winters. (Flavor reccomendation: mint, coconut milk.)
  2. Bath and Body Works Moonlight Path body lotion: Whenever I take a trip to the mall, I always find myself stopping into Bath and Body to stock up on some lotion. Recently, I have discovered the Moonlight Path scent, and have absolutely fallen in love with it! It has just the right amount of floral scent without being too overwhelming. (Another scent to try: Pretty as a Peach.)
  3. Neuma Hair Gel: With my curly, unruly hair, it can be hard to find products that help hold my curls all day, while still leaving them frizz free and not crunchy. After asking my hairdresser, she recommended Neuma, and I have been hooked ever since.
  4. Bioré Charcoal Face Cleanser: I have always had oily skin that was prone to breakouts, and I had gone through seemingly dozens of face washes until I was able to find one that worked. Luckily, I stumbled across this charcoal cleanser, which has working amazingly well for me. (Bonus: it also helps to shrink pores!)
  5. Thayer’s Rose Water Witch Hazel: I started using this amazing toner after having it highly recommended to me from P, and I don’t think that I will ever stray away from witch hazel! I also love the fact that it is non alcoholic, so you can use it throughout the day if you need a little refresher. (Bonus: Rose water has anti inflammatory properties!)

I really hope that you find a use for these products as I have. Be sure to follow, like, and comment your favorite beauty products below!

Book Reccomendations

Hi, it’s P! I noticed lately that most of our posts revolve around beauty tips and food. Don’t get me wrong, I think that’s great, but I thought that maybe I’d shake things up today by sharing some of my favorite books with you! Most of the books I read are YA novels, but I try to venture out from that occasionally. I’m a huge fan of dystopian books, and it’s a big plus for anything I’m reading if there’s some sort of romantic storyline.

While I’m still in the beginning of this book, I’m currently reading Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. It’s a classic Russian book about a woman named Anna and her affair with Count Vronsky, a young noble. I looked into this book originally because I’d heard a lot about it, and the steamy sounding story line sealed the deal for me. I had my doubts about reading a classic book that old, as I’d never been able to read books like that assigned to me in school, however it’s so different when you chose it for yourself. I find myself interested in the lives of the characters. I’m always looking forward to the next time I get a chance to pick that book up.

Another book I’m very fond of is Battle Royale by Koushun Takami. This is actually my favorite book. When I was a sophomore in high school I did a huge research project all about it. This is a dystopian novel about a police state Japan in the year 1997. In this fictional version of Japan, the government has complete control over their citizen and each year choses one class of 9th graders to fight to the death is a secluded environment for ‘research purposes’. When I explained this to all my classmates for my project, expectedly everyone compared it to The Hunger Games, but I never thought of it this way. Battle Royale is a book so its own that there’s no way to compare it to others. While reading it, it will immerse you so completely; the insights into the different character’s minds are really so amazing.

One book I read in middle school that I’ll always love is Kane and Able by Jeffery Archer. It’s a splendid novel about two men who could not be more different, yet affect each other’s lives in extraordinary and unexpected ways. This book had me relating to characters that were vastly different from myself. I ended up pitying characters I’d thought I would have aversion to, and abhorring characters I’d originally respected. This book had me hooked at every turn and changed my mood on every sentence.

I’ve always loved books. I love reading them and discussing them and I LOVE sharing them with my friends (unlike T, though, I can’t write them). That’s why I’m glad to have an opportunity to share some of my favorites with you lovely people. If you like my suggestions, let me know, I’d love to make another post like this again in the future!

4 Ways to Style Black Skinny Jeans

Hey everyone, it’s T. Today I wanted to talk about how to style one of my favorite pieces of clothing, classic black skinny jeans. They go with almost everything, and are a staple of my edgy style. Here are just a few of the many outfits I would wear with these sweet skinny jeans that every girl has to have in her closet.

The first way I love to wear these jeans are with a basic army green v-neck tee (or any color really). This is a nice relaxed look that can be dressed up a bit with ankle booties, or dressed down with a pair of converse or combat boots. Adding some gold accent jewelry will complete this, and you can style your hair any way for it to look even mo00998512185b773b0ef1c19e09eac6c7re fabulous.

I love sweaters. Any sort of chunky sweater will look great with black jeans. I’ve been obsessing over this rosy gold color lately, like shown on the right, and you know I have at least two pieces of clothing in this shade of pink. I think this is a nice way to bundle up for the winter, but look presentable and cute at the same time.

If you need to look more professional for the day, pairing the pants with a nice button-down is sure to give you that boost of confidence in whatever you’re doing that requires such a dressy outfit. A nice pair of flats or pumps, and a cute bag to match completes this look. With any of these outfits, they’re easy to switch between shoes and accessories because these are so versatile, so feel free to adapt any of these to fit your preferences.

The last look I love to wear is a basic unisex tee with a cool and interesting print to it, sleeves cuffed, and that messy bun. It is such a casual look, but I love casual, so you know I rock this all the time. Some converse always top off my looks when I’m not wearing combat boots, and this one is no exception. It’s a perfect outfit for when I just want to go to the store or just out to get some Panera with friends, I always find somewhere to wear this.

Those are all of the looks I found, and I hope this inspired you in some way to work black skinny jeans back into your wardrobe. This is definitely a representation of my fashion sense, so please incorporate your own style into any of these if you decide to try them out. Thanks for reading!

Everyday Makeup Look 2

Hey everyone! It’s M here, and today, I’m going to be sharing with you my everyday makeup look. P has written a post similar to this in the past, but I decided to share my version so you could see ideas for different looks. Without further ado, here is my everyday makeup look:

  1. First, after cleansing my face, I apply Thayer’s Rose Petal Witch Hazel as a toner using a cotton pad. I then use Aveeno’s Clear Complexion daily moisturizer, and Equate Maximum Strength spot treatment on unruly blemishes.
  2. Next, I apply NYX Anti-Reddening Photo Ready primer all over my face. (From someone who has super red skin, this primer has been a god send.) After letting my primer sit for a minute or two to take effect, I apply Cover Girl Clean Matte BB Cream using a foundation brush, and then blend everything in using a Beauty Blender. (I highly recommend this BB Cream for anyone who struggles with oily skin. My sister recommended this to me and I absolutely love it!)
  3. Next, I fill my eyebrows with a dark brown powder, and then line them using a brow brush. After this, I use a spoolie to tame the hairs and make sure that they are all pointed in the same direction.
  4. For my eyeshadow, I use two palettes; the Maybelline Blushed Nudes, and the original Nudes. First I apply the peach color from the Nudes pallete all over my eye area as a base. (Tip: always put a base coat on as a primer; it will help make all of the others colors more pigmented.) After this, I apply the taupe shade from the Blushed Nudes palette on my lid, and to add a little dimension, I apply the chocolate brown from the Nudes palette over the outer corner of my lid. Finally, I apply the dark brown from the Blushed Nudes into my crease.
  5. After this, I line my eyes with my all time favorite liquid eyeliner- Estee Lauder’s Double Wear Zero Smudge. This is by far the easiest liquid eyeliner I have ever owned to apply; the tip has enough flexibility to go on easily, but still is firm enough to help stay in place.
  6. For mascara, I use one coat of Cover Girl’s Full Bloom mascara, and then curl my lashes. After this, I apply a second coat, but this time I use Revlon’s Ultimate All-In-One mascara. (After many different trial and errors, this is the best method that has worked for me to help achieve the ultimate fullness and curliness that I desire in my lashes.)
  7. Next, I apply Maybelline’s Master Strobing Stick Highlighter to my cheekbones, and Revlon’s Insta Blush in Candy Kiss onto the apples of my cheeks.
  8. Finally, I apply lipstick that matches whatever outfit I am wearing. Personally, I am a huge fan of Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor, my favorite shade being Vineyard.

I really hope that this post has helped you, be sure to comment your everyday makeup look below and follow for more!

Tips for Using Facemasks

Hey everyone, it’s P. I know you probably can’t believe that I’m posting yet again about skincare. However, T inspired me to make this post when she asked me for advice regarding a face mask she was using. She wanted to know if she should use her face mask the night before or the day of her event, and honestly I didn’t know the answer. I did some quick research and was able to answer T’s question. As someone who enjoys skin care very much, it’s important to me that people know the correct way to take care of their own skin. Please enjoy the list of tips I’ve compiled, hope they help!

  • Deep cleansing is extremely important for your skin. If done correctly, it can reduce acne and leave your skin feeling brand new. It is important to do some deep cleansing about every two weeks, but to do it too often will do more harm than good to your skin. The plus side of deep cleansing is that it will clear your pores of all oil, bacteria, dirt, and dead cells. However, clearing your pores like this will leave them vulnerable. Do not apply makeup after a cleaning like this. The fresh pores will clog easily and likely lead to new break outs.
  • Moisturizing masks should probably also be used the night before an event. The moisturizing ingredients within need time to be allowed to work. When applied too soon before your event, they will not be given a chance to work properly. This is a definite rule for those of you with oily skin, though some of you with dry skin may find that instant relief a good way to start the morning.
  • The mask T wanted to use was a brightening mask. These masks are simply used to give your skin a healthy glow. They’ll make your skin look young and vibrant, but like all good things, the end comes too quickly. It’s best to use these masks the day of your special event for a radiant look to last all day.
  • Now that I’ve told you when to use certain masks, I’ll give you the how. Sheet masks are straghtforward enough, simply lay it on your skin for the directed amount of time. Peels, clay mask, and other facials though should be applied cautiously. Using for fingers can result in the spread of bacteria, so it may be best to find a brush (even a cheap one would work fine. I’ve seen girls in tutorials mix up facemasks and then simply use the back of their spoon to apply it!). Another advantage of using an applicator rather than your fingers is that you’ll end up using less of your mask.
  • Another tip to help your pores does not just apply to luxurious face masks, but to every time you wash your face. Be sure to rinse your face using warm water, and then when you’re sure there’s no more cleanser on your face, splash your face with cold water. The cold water will close your pores before they can get clogged, therefore preventing breakouts!

I hope you can use some of these tips in the future. Proper skin care is so important to our health and to your  outward appearance. If you don’t have the best skin, please don’t stress; we all have those days!

100 Calorie Mug Brownie

Hey again, it’s T, and today I wanted to share with you a quick 5 minute recipe for when you have a craving, but also a diet plan you’re suppose to stick to. This is yet another Pinterest gem I discovered awhile ago, and it has definitely been a great alternative to eating frosting straight out of the container. Also, since it’s only 100 calories, it is pretty small, just a fair warning. I would like to present to the single serve brownie, I hope you like it!

1 tbs flour

1 tbs sugar

1 tbs cocoa powder

2 tbs applesauce

pinch of baking soda

pinch of salt

All you need to do is combine all of the ingredients in a mug and pop it in the microwave for 1-1:15 minutes. It’s that simple. Sometimes I do like to put nutella on top for a little added treat, but it will increase the calories significantly. That’s all I have for now, I hope you try it for yourself, and let me know how it came out if you do. Thanks for reading!

How to Live the Preppy Life on a Budget

Hey guys, M here, and today we will be talking about my tips for living life in the preppiest way possible. For most of us (the wannabe Blair Waldorf’s of the world) preppy living may seem like a very lofty goal. It can be discouraging at times when we can’t afford the most high-end products, but there are ways to live this kind of lifestyle when you have to deal with a budget. In this post, I am going to share with you my five tips on how to live the preppy life on a budget.

  1. Shop the sales
    1. Over the years, I have found that subscribing to my favorite brands email lists to be notified of sales is extremely helpful when trying to shop for expensive items. Another helpful thing that I have learned over the years is that even though it is frowned upon in 10 Things I Hate About You, shopping at the outlets is very helpful when trying to shop on a budget.
  2. Look for student discounts
    1. Many stores, such as J Crew and Kate Spade, offer student discounts. All you need to do is show them your student ID at checkout and you’re good to go.
  3. Be prepared to wait for what you want
    1. Sometimes, we can get an item in our minds, such as a specific handbag that you have been eyeing or a pair of shoes that you have been dying to buy, but looking at the price tag nearly gives us a heart attack. It can be frustrating to have to wait to get something, but just the simple act of waiting until it is on sale or for a birthday can making a lasting difference.
  4. Shop for long lasting, classic pieces.
    1. Quality over quantity is a mantra that I live by when shopping. Building a preppy wardrobe becomes much easier when you select pieces that you know will still be in your closet after five years- and your wallet will thank you too. (Brand suggestion: Jack Rogers sandals, even though they are expensive, are a closet staple that you will have even after years of wear and tear.)
  5. Find a style icon
    1. Preppy style, while very specific, can also become a very broad category. There are many different kinds of preps, such as southern, New England, ect. To help put an end to some of this confusion, finding a style icon is a must. This can help with lists for large shopping sprees to even something as simple as picking out your outfit for the day. (Icons: Blair Waldorf, Audrey Hepburn, Kate Middleton, Jackie Kennedy.)

I really hope that this post was helpful, and be sure to like and follow for more!
